Very athletic and typy 2005 gelding. Three great, solid gates, especially the canter. Great start on every discipline including Western, English, Trail, Driving, and Jumping. Excellent bloodlines and conformation. Fancy mover and easy to get along with. Very smooth to ride, he just needs experience. Good temperament as well as for the farrier and veterinarian. Would be a great show horse prospect.

Nothing Can Break Our Stride...
As we look to see winter coming to an end, we take a step back and look at Green Valley's successful year of 2009. Our farm accomplished many goals in the show world, as well as at the farm.

To start off the year we welcomed a new filly to the farm. GVF Troika is a full sister to her brothers GVF Sjokolade and GVF Nidar. All of them are out of Sabrine from Holland, and by Kastanjegardens Fernando from Denmark. She was born in May and we cannot wait to see what she grows up to become. Troika is yet another one of our home bred and born pride and joys. She inherited her mothers dark chocolate color and has her fathers lovely movement. We keep the tradition of naming most of our chocolate colored foals after a chocolate name; Troika is a type of Norwegian Chocolate Bar.
Green Valley attended the annual Midwest Fjord Horse show in Blue Earth, Minnesota the end of July. Samantha Poirier competed with the five year old stallion, GVF Sjokolade. From driving, to riding, to western, to english Sjokolade did it all. As a result he won the Reserve Grand Champion Versatility Horse Award. Not only was this a debut show for Samantha and Sjokolade as a team, but Sjokolade was the only stallion competing in most performance classes. Samantha also won Reserve Champion Adult High Point Award. Needless to say the team was happy as well as Howard and Sophie too.
They came home with several proud first places which included Stallions 4 and Over, Dressage Suitability, and Single Log Skid Open Women.

Two weeks later the Green Valley Team was down the road again with two stallions aboard this time heading for Wisconsin. The Norwegian Fjord Horse Registry's Evaluation was held in beautiful Birchwood, Wisconsin. GVF Rolf was going to accomplish his conformation score but not to mention it was his first show and experience off the farm. Traveling along was Rolf's half brother Sjokolade. He was going to complete his advanced English and conformation. Both boys came away with outstanding scores. Rolf achieved the conformation score of a 85 as a five year old stallion, and Sjokolade reached a high score of 86. Sjokolade also completed his advanced English with a score of 85 as well as several nice compliments from both evaluators.

Not only do all four of Green Valley's standing stallions hold evaluation scores of an 85 or higher, they now stand four of the top ten highest evaluated stallions in the United States. Our four stallions are all EVA and CEM free, as well as we recollected all of our frozen semen in August of 2009.

As the winter presses on, we are looking forward to the spring grass and longer days. Green Valley has three mares due this year, all successfully bred with frozen semen from our stallions. We have decided to venture out of the Fjord world for showing this year and try a few open breed shows. Sjokolade will also make his debut in the Dressage show world. As our standard remains high, so do our scores and nothing can break our stride along the way.

Sincerely,

The Green Valley Team
